This Weeks Author Spotlight

IS ON AUTHOR RYCJ

A Word From RYCJ
Raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, married and having raised two children, with several titles penned under my name, writing is the pinnacle of my passion. I am an author, a writer, an illustrator, and an independent publisher. I am a lover of the written word.

OEBooks (a division of OSAAT Entertainment) is currently managed by One Woman. Last year, November 2008, Leiatra’s Rhapsody (Contemporary Romance) was published by OSAAT Entertainment, as was GEM: A Collection of Poetry, Short Stories, and a One-Act Play. February-March 2009 OSAAT published Pretty Inside Out (fiction), Black Table (Memoir/Essays), and the sequel to Leiatra’s Rhapsody; ...Something Xtra Wild. Soon to be released, also by OSAAT February 2010, is Tehuelche (fiction/epic), Storytella (Fiction/Short Story Collection), and This One I Right (the sequel now inducted into the Rhapsody Series).

Writing, however, is not all I do. Memoirs I crave reading, (my favorites this year; Project Girl by Janet McDonald, Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson, Out of Captivity by Marc Gonsalves, Tom Howes, Keith Stansell, and Gary Brozek, The Second Tour by Terry P. Rizzuti, The Black Girl Next Door by Jennifer Baszile, The Unlikely Lavender Queen: A Memoir of Unexpected Blossoming by Jeannie Ralston, All Souls: A Family Story from Southie by Michael P. MacDonald, and Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books by by Azar Nafisi, among some others I may have missed noting here.

All Time Favorites; Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt, Diary of a Young Girl; Anne Frank, and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou

Other hobbies include traveling, musicals, music, comedy, art, poetry, movies, and international independent films.

Tilly's Tale - Harry Porter, Author

Tilly's Tale - Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat

First let me say that I'm an animal lover. It doesn't matter what the animal might be, I love them all but dogs are my favorite. They give non-conditional love no matter what you may do to them or how you may treat them. After readi… Continue

A Pledge to Myself

December has been a fascinating month–so fascinating that I’ve gotten almost no writing accomplished. I had some health challenges, followed by fairly minor-ish surgery, followed by some more health stuff, all of which resolved beautifully and I am well, or as well as someone with Rheumatoid Arthritis can be. Then the holiday preparations hit. The first few weeks of December had already demolished my writing schedule and as Christmas approached, I gave into the season and stopped feeling guilty… Continue

The 2 Minute New Year's Resolution

A New Year's Resolution only takes about 2 minutes to make but then you have a whole year to break it. This year why not make a REALISTIC healthy resolution you can keep.

You may want to:
• Quit smoking
• Lose weight
• Eat healthier
• Exercise more

We all have made resolutions that we don't stick to - a couple of days, weeks or months go by and we start falling back into some of our bad habits… You may get bored with an exercise routine or diet, get a craving that you cannot resist. Remember i… Continue

The Christmas Coronary - Holiday Heart Attack

The Holidays are a joyous time to celebrate and spend time with family and friends. But they have also been found to increase the risk for heart problems. Heart related deaths and heart failure hospitalizations rise sharply around the winter holidays. Several triggers for this increased risk have been reported in recent studies:
• Our normal routine is disrupted - we may be traveling, eating and drinking differently, under more stress and exercising less
• Cold weather can also be a trigger (esp… Continue
