I've seen the discussions on favourite books and authors but I'm wondering how many are authors here?

I know that Ken is and I enjoyed the chat today and I know that Debra is - she invited me. Would love to find out the others and whether you write fiction or non-fiction.

Hi Marilyn, welcome - it's great to meet you. Where do you hang out? I'm in Australia.

Cool Karen, that's great. How long ago did you publish your book? Have you thought of doing any more?

Hi Kathie,

You got one veteran author of 12 years right here, LOL! I write mainstream fiction, including mysteries and thrillers. My latest is the thriller Melody published by Simon and Schuster. It's got tons of everything mixed into it. It's getting great reviews so check it out if you haven't already! Best wishes! Glad to be here.

I'm a first time author with an off the wall fiction first novel called BEAUFORT FALLS, which I unofficially call '"spoofy Southern melodrama." It defies genre and NOTHING is what it seems, in Beaufort Falls! It delivers a serious message while having a lot of fun with my area of origon, the Southern United States. Since publishing, I've been in a whirlwind of activity working my full time job during the week and marketing the book on weekends, not to even mention spending WAY too much time online.

Happy to meet you, Kathie!

Lovely to meet you Mari. I've never been to the US so my knowledge of your geography is very sketchy to say the least. But it sounds like you've had some fun with writing your book. I struggle to write fiction - I can never get it finished so I stick with non-fiction for now.

So good to meet all of you.

Hi Katie! I'm an author as well. I've written non-fiction and poetry. I'm going to try my hand at fiction (I have a romance novel project in the works) and see where it takes me.

What kind of books do you enjoy, Kathy?

Hi Kimberley, nice to meet you. I never finish a fiction story (writing that is) so stick to non-fiction but I have written lots of poetry and some songs as well.

I enjoy reading biographies, romance novels and personal/professional development books.

You know, I always had problems with writing and finishing a story myself until I forced myself to. Poetry is a passion of mine. I've written it since the age of 9 so I can relate. A poem can be easy to get out, but a story is different. You have to love the characters and place, etc.

I write fantasy novels and have a few small books published.
