Joan De La Haye brought together a young woman with a troubled past and very unhappy present, and then she spiced everything up with a tidbit of torment demon!! Shadows starts off by setting the scene. A cheating boyfriend and a girl coming to terms with the death of her father sounds like the beginning of something normal and boring but then all of a sudden the story curves into something much more scary. Twists and turns throughout the book make the plot look so complex but yet it is so simple. As the tale unfolds and small pieces start falling into place it is hard not to enjoy every new puzzle thrown into the mix.
