- I began writing after the DWI vehicular homicide death of my 14 yr old daughter, as a catharsis for my grief. This culminated in a 25 year career as a writer, journalist, short story, slice of life and commentary columnist. Each year I published a story or poem about the one I loved and lost, as a deathbed promise to her--that her death would not be in vain. With the publication of my memoir, . . .AND THE WHIPPOORWILL SANG, I have kept my promise.
