Sneak Peek at the Cover of The Lies We Told
The cover for The Lies We Told, which I just completed and which will be published June 2010. I love it, but the hair color of the sisters doesn’t match the story exactly. How much would that bother you as readers? If I view the image as more representational than literal, I can get past that fact. .

Comment by Betty Dravis on October 4, 2009 at 8:53pm - That wouldn't bother me as much as the illustrations in my The Toonies Invade Silicon Valley, a YA fantasy adventure. In one scene a little Toonie has a reaction to some human food he ate. I said his ears, nose and toes swelled up (not exact wording) but in the illustration ONLY his toes were swollen. And when the EVIL cartoon ape-bird character attacks a much smaller bird, he doesn't look menacing at all; NOT drawn to match book description. Now THAT bothers me. I agree with you about your cover, Diane, and so little shows of the main character's hair it could be lighter or darker on top. Know what I mean? Best of luck. Fantastic title!
