I ask for a meeting with the book buyer or manager, present them with a signed copy of my novel over coffee, and generally have a conversation where I attempt to gain their confidence. Including presenting them with book reviews by accredited reviewers and bestselling authors who have read the novels and provided me with positive blurbs for my books. Most bookstores like B&N and Borders, even Independents, try to accommodate local authors. So far I've been successful. Over the last eight years I've had a dozen signings/readings with B&N, Borders, and Independent stores locally and regionally.
is it available as an eBook? If so you could sell it through my site amongst others. At Bookstolistento, the writer/publisher gets the lion's share of the money.
Also, have you considered doing it as an audiobook?
